One summer evening in 2010, or maybe it was late spring, Leif and his good friend Chase Whiteside were jamming in Leif's loft apartment in Chillicothe, Missouri. It was a rainy day, which helped to inspire the improvisation both musically and lyrically.

Just sitting here alone, beneath a gray halo of regret and remorse.
As I observe the city lights, washed out by the cold, dark rain.
Look at all the lonely people playing into their mundane lives.
Pretty dresses and new steam-cleaned suits,
trusting their security to a thin, polyester plight.

How everything loses color
All we have gained is washed away
with the changing tide

The darkness falls heavy on my empty cold, stale, stone estate.
The writing on the wall reveals grim, I'm wishing I had a clean slate.
Stepping out the back door unveils my naked truth.
Showered in the elements, I wash away my dark youth.
